FuGen
Solutions MISPTM
virtual federation platform helps the Danish
Government certify eGov Federation scenarios
based on SAML 2.0 standard Danish Government just released free Toolkits and Reference implementations for service providers that need to federate with Identity Providers supporting the open SAML 2.0 standard. They include the Danish Public Sector Login (called NemLog-in) and the Danish Business-to-Government portal (called
Virk.dk)’s login. The toolkits and associated reference implementations implements the Danish eGov OIOSAML 2.0 profile and can be downloaded from the open source repository
softwareborsen.dk.
The Government of Denmark (DK) used FuGen
Solutions MISPTM to set up a virtual identity hub
to demonstrate DK’s citizen portal use cases
simulating an Identity Provider and multiple
service providers. FuGen MISPTM facilitates
partner on-boarding, federation deployment
Interoperability testing and external agencies (SPs)
compliance for EU Government federation
(OIOSAML2.0).
The purpose of these toolkits is
twofold. For a service provider that does not
use a standard product for integration, the
toolkits accelerate and facilitate the
integration with Danish public sector solutions
like the citizen portal (Borger.dk) and the
Business-to-Government portal (Virk.dk). The
toolkits lower the development costs associated
with this integration, thus accelerating
federation deployments within EU eGov space.
With the toolkits, citizens and employees can
login to a web solution and simultaneously
achieve single sign on to other solutions within
the same federation. Instead of developing
similar functionality from scratch, by using one
of the released toolkits, a public authority can
save months of development work..
The toolkits, reference
implementations and development tools are
sponsored by the IT Infrastructure and
Implementation Division at the Danish National
IT and Telecom Agency in conjunction with public
sector partners such as the Danish Public Sector
Federation, anchored at the Danish Agency for
Governmental Management, together with the
Danish Knowledge Center for Software.
The reference implementations have gone through
integration testing. The DK SAML2.0 compliance
certification reports produced by FuGen MISPTM
regarding the .Net toolkit will be added to the
downloads in the very near future.
